Piezo: a step in the right direction

Ankita Jatia, Heremy Agnew, Sydney Okamoto, Tino Troska

Our design proposal is to apply an anthropology design and user-centered design in Paris Metro in order to empower people and create emotional experience while educating in energy awareness and in cutting energy costs. It uses piezoelectricity to transform ‘Châtelet-les-Halles’ public transport station into a sustainable system. It will become a tangible, unique experience that will encourage people to adopt sustainable energy behaviour. The public will no longer be passive users – they will now be an active and integral part of Châtelet’s core by producing its energy.
